Meeting Them Where They’re At: An Advertising Agency Finds the Right IT Partner
When WIN Technology was first introduced to a local advertising agency, they came to us with a clear set of priorities: they needed a solution that was flexible, cost-effective, and efficient—while also strengthening their infrastructure and security posture.

As a team of creators, their work environment is fast-paced and constantly evolving. WIN took the time to understand their unique needs and challenges, then developed a scalable, right-sized support model backed by experienced engineers. With deep technical expertise and a flexible approach, we were well-positioned to meet them where they were—and help them move forward.
Where They Needed Support
During our initial conversations, the agency outlined three key priorities:
- Support for Apple Devices: Their creative team works in a Mac-based environment and needed an IT partner with experience supporting Apple Business systems.
- Cybersecurity Training: They were looking to strengthen their internal awareness and provide staff with practical training to help prevent cyber threats.
- Data Strategy: With 10+ terabytes of data and no clear process for managing it, they needed guidance on what to keep, what to move, and what to securely delete.
Our Process
After an open, collaborative lunch meeting, a WIN Sales Engineer met with the client’s team. Together, we reviewed the client’s current IT tools and services. Through this discovery process, we uncovered unexplained license counts and the absence of certain necessary licenses. We made a clear commitment: if selected as their ongoing partner, we would audit and correct these licensing issues.
We also conducted an on-site visit to better understand their infrastructure and day-to-day workflows. Using the information gathered, we developed a tailored support plan aligned with their operations and designed to scale with their business needs.
Our Proposed Plan
- Co-Managed IT with Mac Support: Our Milwaukee-based IT team includes five engineers with experience in supporting Mac environments. We proposed a co-managed IT model offering dependable monthly support and the flexibility to adapt as their employee and contractor count fluctuates.
- Cybersecurity Training and Multifactor Authentication: As a Knowbe4 partner, WIN delivers cybersecurity training to both our clients and our own staff. We outlined a plan to equip their team with the skills to identify phishing, social engineering, and other cyber threats. Additionally, we recommended implementing multifactor authentication (MFA)—a priority for the client’s IT director—as an immediate security improvement.
- Data Cleanup Strategy: As a separate project, we’re partnering with the client to assess and clean up 10+ terabytes of legacy data. We’ll help them determine what should be retained, backed up, archived, or securely deleted, and recommend the best path forward for organized, efficient data storage.
The Outcome
While this engagement is still ongoing, the client now has a trusted partner who offers:
- Scalable IT support
- Greater control over licensing and billing
- A plan to improve their cybersecurity posture
- A path forward for strategic data management
A Partnership Built on Trust
At WIN Technology, we believe that strong relationships are built through listening, follow-through, and meeting clients where they are—not where we assume they should be. That’s the approach we took with this client, and it’s the same approach we bring to every partnership. Talk to a WIN specialist to learn how we can help you.
