Fall in the Midwest means crisp mornings, vibrant fall colors, and the return of football season. Stadiums fill, rivalries reignite, and communities gather around the game.

At WIN, we’re proud to play a behind-the-scenes role in that excitement. Our fiber network powers several of your favorite football stadiums in the Midwest.
The IT Services Provider in the Upper Midwest that Operates its Own AI-Ready Fiber Network
Headquartered in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, WIN delivers comprehensive technology solutions designed to improve resilience, performance and uptime for organizations across Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, and Michigan. We operate over 20,000 miles of AI-ready fiber across the region and provide IT, Network, Hyperscale, and Data Center Solutions that support customer needs.
So, when thousands of fans stream highlights, share photos, and check scores in real time, it’s our network that helps make it possible.
But building a network strong enough for Thursday night football didn’t happen overnight…
Our Story
Founded in 1997, WIN Technology is unique in being owned by 31 independent telephone companies (Telcos) in Wisconsin.
Our story began when a group of independent Telcos in Wisconsin were frustrated with the services they received from major internet providers. They believed that through the formation of WIN they could own and control their own network, offering them diversity to the outside world without needing to depend on the larger providers.
Network Services Growth
As the use of cellphones began to grow, so did the WIN network. Not long after, we established a fiber path from Minneapolis to Chicago and this enabled our network services to grow even more. WIN’s network services now include:
- Hyperscale Solutions
- Dark Fiber
- Dedicated Internet Access
- Ethernet
- Fiber Services
- Network Engineering
Introduction of the WIN Data Center
In 2007, we added data centers to the mix with the creation of our Eau Claire data center. Today, our WIN network extends to 20+ data centers across the Midwest for when you need big bandwidth connectivity.
NOC Services
As our network grew, we decided to bring our Network Operations Center (NOC) fully in-house. What had originally been outsourced, now had a fully capable team monitoring the network. Our NOC team has grown to the point where we now provide NOC services across the US through our partnership with INDATEL members.
WIN IT Service Offerings
In 2012, we introduced IT Services to our list of offerings. Today we provide a range of services from co-managed and fully managed IT to one-time professional services projects and a host of additional IT infrastructure and cybersecurity solutions.
Bringing IT and network services under one roof offers our customers something different: a single partner to manage both sides of their network connectivity and digital infrastructure. Instead of juggling multiple providers and pointing fingers when issues come up, organizations who work with us gain a team with end-to-end visibility and accountability. This removes complexity, solves problems faster, and helps our customers focus on their business.
Fiber to Football Stadiums
As our IT Services list continued to grow, so did our network. In 2014 the network expanded into Northern Illinois and by 2016 we had fiber in our first football stadium! Two years later our network expanded into Iowa and has continued to grow across the Midwest. In 2020 we began to supply fiber to our second professional football stadium.
Acquisition of Digicorp, Inc.
In 2024, WIN acquired Digicorp, Inc., an IT, cybersecurity and structured cabling provider in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Welcoming Digicorp to the WIN Technology family has enabled us to expand our service offerings to now include video surveillance, voice solutions and structured cabling.
Why We Do What We Do
At WIN Technology, we’ve always believed that being part of a community means showing up in meaningful ways. Sometimes that’s volunteering for local causes or supporting our Chambers of Commerce. At the core, it’s about building connections that help people, organizations, and communities thrive.
That’s why our purpose statement is Connections Matter. It’s not just a tagline—it’s how we operate every day. From powering the excitement of game day to supporting the daily operations of businesses, schools, manufacturing and healthcare providers, we exist to make those connections possible.
Whether your organization has 20 employees or 2,000, WIN can support your IT and network connectivity needs. If you’d like to explore what’s possible, our team is here to help.
